Dr. Sudhir Kumar Chaturvedi

Dr. Sudhir Kumar Chaturvedi obtained his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, focusing on "Tsunami Detection using Space Technologies" in 2017. Additionally, he holds an MS (by Research) in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Madras, Chennai (2011) and a BE in Aeronautical Engineering from The Aeronautical Society of India, New Delhi (2009).

Before joining Alliance University, Dr. Chaturvedi amassed extensive experience in teaching, research, and administration. He held teaching & research positions at UPES Dehradun from Jan 2012 to Jan 2024 and was previously associated with the Korea Ocean Research & Development Institute (KORDI) in South Korea from 2010 to 2011 as a visiting research scholar.

Dr. Chaturvedi has been recognized with numerous National and International Awards, including the Prof. S. Krishnan Award (2007 & 2008) for "All India Topper in two subjects" from The Aeronautical Society of India and the "Young Scientist Award-2010" from KOSMEE, South Korea in 2010. He also received the “IEEE Best Paper Award” in ISM-2012, “Research Excellency Awards” in 2016, 2017, and 2019 from UPES, and the “Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award” (2021, 2022) from UFRN, Brazil. He represented his previous University for the flying cars projects at American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA), USA in 2022.

In 2023, he was recognized in the "Top 2% Scientist list in the field of Aerospace & Aeronautics" by Stanford University, USA. Furthermore, in the same year, the Government of Uttarakhand honored him with the "Best Teacher Award for the State" at the Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival.
He has supervised more than 80 B. Tech students' Major/Minor projects, 06 M. Tech projects, and 03 Ph.Ds. (with 01 awarded and 02 in progress). Additionally, he has authored around 45+research papers indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, recognized nationally and internationally including current science, Journal of Navigation, Journal of Ocean Engineering Sciences and many more. He serves on the Editorial Board of prestigious journals such as NATURE and JMRT. Professionally, he holds memberships in SMIEEE, LMISRS, LMAeSI, and ECM IITMAA.

Amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, he spearheaded the initiative to organize over 35 online master classes featuring distinguished personalities such as Chairmen, CMDs, Presidents, and Directors from across the country. His adeptness in conducting these sessions earned him recognition from each participant. This endeavor not only highlighted the university's strengths but also underscored Sudhir's proactive leadership. In 2020, responding to the Vice Chancellor's request, he facilitated messages of support from dignitaries including the Governor of the UK, the Chief Minister of the UK, and the Chairman of AICTE for the launch of the School for Life (SFL) program.

In his recent role as the Organizing Secretary of the National Space Convention (NSC) 3.0 at his previous organization, his capabilities were evident as he successfully invited approximately 15 Directors/DGs from various organizations, including DRDO and ISRO, to participate on stage at the UPES campus. This included Scientific Advisors to the Raksha Mantri. Despite the constraints of time, he efficiently facilitated numerous letters and forwards from dignitaries such as the Governor of the UK, the Honorable CM of the UK, the Honorable MoS (Defence), and a Honorable Cabinet Minister, among others, which significantly contributed to the convention's larger scale. Additionally, he secured sponsorship from ISRO, a pivotal supporter of NSC 3.0. He was granted the opportunity to appear live on national TV news channels, including TV9 Bharatvarsh and Zee Business, during the landing of Chandrayan 3 on August 23, 2023.

His instructional experience encompasses a diverse range of subjects within Aerospace Engineering, including Avionics, Flight Controls, Navigation, Radar Technologies, and many more, catering to both young adults and working professionals.
