Dr. Sharath
Assistant Professor
Alliance College of Engineering and Design
Dr. Sharath received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur. His areas of research include intelligent transportation systems and traffic engineering. He has developed cost-effective vehicle localization and motion planning algorithms for autonomous land vehicles during his Ph.D. tenure. As a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Manitoba, Canada, he developed and implemented a novel methodology for optimizing multi-objective multi-echelon demand-responsive transportation networks.
Simultaneously, Dr. Sharath advised and actively assisted several Ph.D. and post-graduate students with their research work. He has hands-on experience using various analytical tools/methodologies like fuzzy inference systems, Taguchi’s design of experiments, and evolutionary algorithms, demonstrating a wide range of expertise. His works are published in some of the best journals in Transportation Engineering. He also holds teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
