Dr. Jimin George

Dr. Jimin George holds a Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA where his work was based on the CMS Experiment (a Particle Physics detector in the Large Hadron collider) at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. After finishing his Ph.D., he joined the University of Texas at Austin, USA working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the Muon g-2 Experiment at Fermilab in Chicago, USA. Later he joined the University of Massachusetts-Amherst as a Postdoctoral Research Associate continuing to work on the Muon g-2 Experiment. At the Muon g-2 Experiment, he was part of the assembly, data collection, and data analysis. He led many roles such as the manager of the magnetic field team and the run co-ordinator of the experiment.

Dr. George holds a master’s degree in Physics from University of Hyderabad with a specialization in High Energy Physics and bachelor’s degree in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi College in Kerala. He is very passionate about teaching and strongly believes that a basic understanding in science is a necessary requirement in the 21st century.
