Dr. David F L Jenkins holds a Ph.D. from Cranfield Institute of Technology, and a master's and bachelor's degree from the University of Essex and the University of Salford respectively.

Dr. Jenkins primary research interests are in sensor development for the characterization and optimization of  materials and devices. His research focuses on 2-dimensional materials including graphene and its derivatives, along with thin films for solar cells, nanoporous aerogels for water treatment, and in nano-toxicology using surface plasmon resonance to detect ultra-low concentrations of nano particles in water. Dr. Jenkins has a long research experience, with over 120 publications and conference presentations to his credit.
