Prof. Rohit Ranjan holds an LLM degree in Access to Justice from Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai, a Gold Medalist in BA LLB (H) from National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi and is UGC-NET qualified. He has worked on housing rights, rights of slum dwellers and right to shelter (2016) with Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action during his fieldwork and prepared a ready reference on housing rights of slum dwellers in Mumbai.

He started as a Programme Coordinator and Research Associate for Snehadhara Foundation, Bangalore, an organization working in the field of mental health. He led the Centre for Inclusive Policy (CIP) which was setup there to pursue policy research in inclusive education and rights of persons with disability wherein he led a project for making Aadhar card and disability certificate for persons with disability and document the process to create a knowledge document for reference.

His interest areas include Law of Contracts, Jurisprudence, and Constitutional Law with special focus on studying the affirmative action policy and its rationale. He is proficient in legal and academic research and usage of online libraries and has a knack for essaying administrative roles.

  1. Presented Paper titled “Transformation of affirmative action policy in India” in Annual Themed Conference on Transformative Constitutionalism exploring ideas and possibilities in its theory and practice organized by Human Rights Lawyering Project, NLSIU Bengaluru and Ford Foundation.
  2. Presented Paper titled “Infringement of economic rights of minorities in India” in 1st National Seminar on Human Rights and Administration of Justice organized by Amity Law School, Kolkata.
  3. Presented Paper titled “Mob Lynching and Hate Crimes: A Jurisprudential Analysis” in National Seminar on Mob Lynching and Vigilantism: A Human Rights Perspective organized by National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi.
