Centre of Excellence in Indian Knowledge System
The Centre of Excellence in Indian Knowledge Systems (CoE–IKS) at Alliance University, Bangalore, was established in 2024 with the objective of promoting and advancing the rich intellectual and cultural heritage of Indian Knowledge Systems in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The Centre aims to integrate traditional Indian wisdom with contemporary academic research and interdisciplinary studies. It seeks to explore diverse areas such as philosophy, literature, performing arts, ecology, health traditions, social thought, and indigenous knowledge practices preserved in classical texts and living traditions.
CoE-IKS encourages scholarly research, documentation, and dissemination of knowledge through seminars, workshops, academic collaborations, and publications. It also promotes dialogue between traditional practitioners, scholars, and global academic communities.
Through national and international collaborations, the Centre strives to create a vibrant platform for the study, preservation, and application of Indian Knowledge Systems in addressing contemporary societal and ecological challenges.
