Arun Sankar is an alumnus and ex faculty member of Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai (an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and holds a Master Degree in Bharathanatyam .He is an empanelled Bharathanatyam artiste with the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and represented India under its aegis and Ministry of external affairs for FOI in various countries. A trained instructor from The Art of Living International Centre, Bengaluru and currently a Research Scholar with the SSUS, Kalady.

- Arun represented India under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India & Indian High Commission) New Delhi for FOI in various countries including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Vietnam, Mauritius, Madagascar, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan
- Performance at The Kennedy Centre, Washington DC for an official event organised by the Indian Consulate in November 2013
