Dr. V Sukumar

Dr. V. Sukumar holds M. A, M.Phil., PhD in Psychology, a Diploma in CMH and B. Ed in Special Education.  He is an Academician and an RCI certified Rehabilitation cum Child Neuropsychologist with a span of two decades of experience in treating children with Specific Learning Difficulties and Neuro-Developmental Disorders. He is a certified international practitioner of Instrumental Enrichment Program (Israel) Orton Gillingham method, Pass Reading Enhancement Program, Cognitive Enhancement Program (Canada), Learning Strategy Curriculum (Kansas, USA), NLP and Brain Gym. His expertise is in the Neuro-psycho-metric assessment of the referred clients and devising tailor-made interventions upon integrating the complex data from assessments. He has enriched experience working alongside the Psychiatrists, Pediatricians, Physicians, Social workers, Education Professionals, Health visitors, and Occupational Therapists and has a unique and comprehensive approach to the principles of Diagnosis, Treatment and Counselling for Physical and Psychological Health issues.  His expertise encompasses the application of his unique knowledge in the principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.

Prior to becoming an Associate Professor at the esteemed Alliance University, he served positions as Head of the Psychology Department and Teaching Faculty at several institutions in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.  He has a total of nine years of experience in the field of education and a total of 23 years of clinical experience. He has written numerous freelance articles for The Hindu and other periodicals and published his research in a number of scientific journals.

To his credit he has trained more than one lakh student of various schools and colleges across several states.  He has conducted more than 500 training workshops for School HMs, Teachers, Correspondents, College Professors and Medical Professionals. He is a resource person of NIPMED Chennai to train RCI certified practitioners. He also provides Career Counselling and Guidance to the budding minds.

He is an energetic and enthusiastic Basketball player and has played for the All-India University Team for 5 years. During his leisure time, he continues to play and coach young talents as well.
