Dr. Akshay Pramod Dhume

Dr. Akshay Pramod Dhume is a seasoned economist, dedicated researcher, and academic leader with nearly two decades of experience in higher education. His academic background is robust, with education in Economics and Mathematics completed in Pune and New York.

As an Institution Builder, Dr. Dhume has been pivotal in the development of curriculums and academic systems at several leading universities, including FLAME University, the Bengaluru Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE), MIT World Peace University, and Alliance University.

In these foundational roles, he was instrumental in conceptualizing academic frameworks based on the Liberal Education Philosophy, driving successful faculty recruitment initiatives, and sensitizing colleagues to integrated curriculum design and multidisciplinary pedagogy. He also contributed significantly as a member of various Academic Councils and Boards of Studies.

His teaching and research expertise is comprehensive, spanning Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Statistics, Econometrics, and Economics of Development & Growth. Dr. Dhume's scholarly contributions have been published in Scopus and ABDC-indexed journals. Furthermore, he has contributed encyclopedia entries to the Marathi Vishwakosh (a project of the Government of Maharashtra).

Beyond academia, he has served as a consultant for high-level policy studies, notably for the study group supporting the Kelkar Committee's Report on Regional Growth Strategies for Maharashtra, as well as the End of Project Evaluation Study of Sujala – III (Watershed) in Karnataka.
