Alliance Spandana Inaugurates Kaushalya Spandana Center for Women’s Skill Development
22 January, 2026

Alliance University continues to strengthen its commitment to social responsibility through Alliance Spandana, its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. As part of this ongoing effort, the University inaugurated the Kaushalya Spandana Center with a Pooja and formal launch ceremony. The centre has been established to support women from nearby communities by providing skill-based training and opportunities for self-employment.
Establishment of the Kaushalya Spandana Center
The Kaushalya Spandana Center has been set up to offer structured skill development programmes for underprivileged and marginalised women living in and around the Alliance University campus. The centre aims to create practical livelihood opportunities that can help women achieve financial independence. The inauguration ceremony marked the official beginning of a Free Skill Training Programme for Women, organised in collaboration with the Alliance School of Design.
Objectives of the Initiative
The initiative focuses on empowering women through vocational education and practical training. It seeks to promote self-employment and income generation while encouraging the use of eco-friendly and sustainable alternatives. The programme is designed to support women from low-income backgrounds and to help them develop confidence, independence, and economic self-reliance through skill acquisition.
Overview of the Skill Training Programme
The Free Skill Training Programme for Women focuses on fabric bag making and basic self-employment skills. The programme is jointly implemented by Alliance Spandana and the Alliance School of Design. It provides hands-on training in bag production along with foundational knowledge related to small-scale entrepreneurship. The training is designed to prepare participants for independent production and local market engagement.
Programme Structure and Training Approach
The training programme includes practical sessions on fabric bag making, with an emphasis on eco-friendly materials and quality finishing techniques. Participants are also introduced to basic selling and entrepreneurship concepts. The programme is structured in phases, beginning with skill training, followed by a pilot stage involving production and selling. In the long term, the initiative offers scope for sustainable self-employment opportunities.
Beneficiaries of the Programme
The programme primarily benefits women from economically weaker sections who are interested in learning new vocational skills. It is open to women from nearby villages and surrounding communities who are willing to complete the full duration of the training. The centre aims to create an inclusive environment where participants can learn, practise, and grow at their own pace.
Social Impact and Community Engagement
Through the Kaushalya Spandana Center, Alliance University aims to contribute to social and economic inclusion. The initiative supports women in improving their employability and financial stability while reducing dependency. By promoting eco-friendly bag production, the programme also encourages sustainable practices and responsible consumption. The centre serves as a platform for strengthening community engagement and reinforcing social responsibility.
Conclusion
The inauguration of the Kaushalya Spandana Center and the launch of the Free Skill Training Programme for Women reflect Alliance University’s continued focus on community development and women’s empowerment. Through this initiative, the University seeks to support long-term positive change by enabling women to develop skills, generate income, and lead independent and dignified lives. Alliance University remains committed to expanding such initiatives as part of its broader approach to inclusive and sustainable development.
