Alliance School of Business Welcomes MBA Spring 2026 Batch with Inaugural and Orientation Program

Alliance University, through the Alliance School of Business, organised a two-day Inaugural and Orientation Program for the MBA Spring 2026 batch. The program was designed to formally welcome new students and introduce them to the academic structure, institutional values, and support systems of the University. The sessions were held at Seminar Hall 1, Learning Centre 1, Bengaluru.
Inaugural Ceremony and Addresses
The program commenced with an invocation and the lighting of the lamp, marking the formal opening of the orientation. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by Dr Ray Titus, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Innovation and Incubation) and Dean, Alliance School of Business. The inaugural address was delivered by Mr Abhay G. Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor, Alliance University, who spoke on the importance of management education in a changing business environment. Dr Priestly Shan Boaz, Vice-Chancellor, Alliance University, addressed the students and outlined the University’s academic vision and expectations.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr Rabindra Srikantan, Founder and Managing Director of ASM Technologies Limited and CII Chairman for Karnataka State. He shared industry perspectives and highlighted the role of responsible leadership. The inaugural session also included an address by Alliance alumnus Ms Patralika Agrawal, Head of Marketing at TechnoSport, who reflected on her academic journey and professional experience. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Surekha Shetty, Registrar General, Alliance University.
Academic Orientation and Curriculum Overview
Following the inaugural session, students were introduced to administrative processes, including registration, document verification, and the student code of conduct, led by Prof. (Dr) M. Viswanathaiah, Registrar, Alliance University. The academic orientation continued with detailed sessions on the MBA program structure and curriculum.
Faculty members from different academic areas presented overviews of their respective disciplines. These sessions covered Information Systems and Operations Management, Finance and Accounting, Human Resource Management, General Management, Marketing, and Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. The discussions focused on academic expectations, learning outcomes, and the integrated approach adopted by the Alliance School of Business.
Student Support and Career Development
The second day of the program focused on student development, evaluation, and support services. Sessions included an overview of student performance evaluation, corporate mentorship, alumni engagement, and career planning. Students were also introduced to international exchange opportunities, student support services, and POSH awareness.
Additional sessions covered technology-enabled learning, IT services, and library resources, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the academic infrastructure and learning support available at the University.
Introduction to the SDG Sustainability Project
As part of the orientation, students were introduced to the SDG Sustainability Project, a structured initiative aimed at developing problem-solving and social responsibility skills. The project includes workshops on immersion, research, ideation, solution design, prototyping, and pitching. The program encourages students to engage in fieldwork and apply management concepts to real-world sustainability challenges.
