Alliance School of Design

Vinal Sharma is a design and management professional with a unique interdisciplinary background that bridges creative innovation and strategic thinking. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Accessory Design and a Master’s in Fashion Management from the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), where she developed a holistic understanding of the fashion ecosystem — from concept to consumer.

With hands-on experience in both the design and business sides of the industry, she brings a grounded and dynamic approach to academia. Her industry exposure spans product development, retail operations, and brand strategy, enabling her to bring real-world insights into the classroom. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in experiential learning and critical inquiry, aiming to prepare students for both creative expression and business acumen in today’s fast-evolving landscape.

Vinal’s academic and research interests lie at the intersection of sustainable fashion, Indian craft revival, and contemporary consumer behavior. She is particularly passionate about exploring how emerging technologies and ethical business practices can support circular fashion systems. She is also drawn to the study of indigenous knowledge systems and how they can be integrated into modern brand narratives.

From a management perspective, she is keen to investigate themes around visual merchandising, retail analytics, and brand positioning, especially within the context of evolving consumer expectations and value-based decision-making.

As an educator, Vinal is committed to nurturing future-forward thinkers who are conscious of their impact on society and the environment. She believes in fostering inclusive, collaborative, and reflective classroom spaces where students are encouraged to question, create, and lead with purpose.

A firm believer in lifelong learning, she aspires to contribute to impactful research, curriculum innovation, and meaningful academic-industry collaborations. Her goal is to empower the next generation of creative professionals to not only adapt to the industry’s changing needs but to shape its future with integrity and imagination.
