Mr. Sofiul Ahmed

Assistant Professor

Mr. Sofiul Ahmed is an accomplished Advocate-turned-Academician with over eight and a half years of combined experience in academia, litigation, and institutional leadership. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Law at Presidency University, Bengaluru, focusing on legal education, constitutional governance, and social justice. With a deep commitment to advancing the quality of legal education, his pedagogical philosophy is rooted in the integration of theory with practical, experiential learning.

Mr. Ahmed has previously served as Vice Principal of Ajmal Law College under Gauhati University, where he played a key role in academic and administrative management, curriculum development, and student mentorship. His experience also includes faculty positions at Presidency University, Bengaluru, ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad, Apex Professional University, Arunachal Pradesh, and multiple leadership roles in legal aid, admissions, student welfare, and NAAC documentation processes.

He holds an LL.M. in Energy Laws from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), a B.A. LL.B. (Hons) from Dibrugarh University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. He is also UGC-NET qualified in Law and has successfully cleared the All India Bar Examination.

In addition to academic and administrative contributions, Mr. Ahmed is actively involved in legal aid and social justice initiatives. As Faculty Coordinator of the Legal Services Clinic at Presidency University, he led efforts that earned the 4th National Legal Aid Award 2024 by Knowledge Steez Edu LLP. He has organized over 40 legal literacy and awareness events and conducted impactful legal aid camps and surveys across remote areas of Karnataka.

With a strong foundation in Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, ADR, Energy Law, and Professional Ethics, Mr. Ahmed is passionate about community engagement, access to justice, and capacity building for young legal professionals. His work consistently reflects his commitment to upholding social responsibility through legal education and contributing to the institutional growth of the organizations he serves.
