Dr. Yogesh Kumar is a seasoned academic and researcher in the field of Chemistry, currently serving as a Professor and Research Faculty in Alliance School of Sciences. With over a decade of teaching and research experience, Dr. Kumar has made significant contributions to both undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as interdisciplinary research.
Prior to joining Alliance University, he held the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry (Basic Science), School of Engineering and Technology, Jain University, Bangalore, where he also served as an Assistant Professor from 2014 to 2022. His academic journey includes teaching stints at Surana College, Bangalore, and research experience as a Research Assistant in a VTU-sponsored project on eco-friendly nanoparticle synthesis for groundwater treatment. Additionally, he gained industrial research experience as a Scientific Assistant Trainee at NESSO, a phytochemical R&D organization in Mysore.
Dr. Kumar has taught a broad range of subjects including Engineering Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic, Analytical, and Physical Chemistry, as well as coaching students for competitive exams like IIT-JEE and AIEEE.
His research interests span:
- Synthesis and characterization of mesoporous nanoparticles and graphene oxide nanocomposites for wastewater remediation,
- Electrochemical wastewater treatment,
- Nanoparticle applications in energy conversion devices and sensor technology,
- Kinetic studies of biological compounds using spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Kumar has actively contributed to institutional development as Sports and Cultural Secretary, ISO Internal Auditor, and Department Coordinator for NBA and NAAC accreditations. He has also served as Software Coordinator, Lab In-charge, and Admission Coordinator, showcasing his holistic engagement in academic administration and student development.
