Dr. Subbaraman Kumaran

Professor

Dr. Subbaraman Kumaran holds a doctoral degree from the School of Management, Alagappa University, Karaikudi. He obtained his MBA (Master of Business Administration), MMM (Master of Marketing Management) and M.Phil. (Master of Philosophy in Management) degrees from reputed Universities in Tamil Nadu. He was ranked first in his undergraduate studies which was B.Sc. (Physics) from the Madurai Kamaraj University. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Agriculture from the prestigious Farm University of India, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Dr. Kumaran completed his LL.B from Andhra University, Vishakapatnam.

Dr. Kumaran has fourteen years of industry experience and has worked with Texmo Industries, Coimbatore, IEC-Rain Bird Irrigation Co., Hyderabad and NGO networks in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. He has organized more than 500 business development programs for Texmo Industries dealers’ network across the country. He also introduced Rain Bird – USA, modern micro irrigation equipment to South India. He has worked as a Coordinator for NGOs network in the areas of Planning, Funding, Monitoring and Evaluation of Resource Management projects. Dr. Kumaran has interacted with more than 200 NGOs for developmental work and has organized and conducted more than 100 training programs for developmental activists. He was involved in projects relating to Social Forestry, Drinking Water, Irrigation Tank Management and Watershed development programs in South India.

Dr. Kumaran has 14 years of Teaching and Research experience. He teaches Entrepreneurship Development, Research Methodology, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Services Marketing, Industrial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Management, Environmental Engineering Management and Hospital Management. He authored two books titled “Tourism Management – Challenges and Strategies” and “Tourism and Water”, focusing on major issues in the tourism sectors. Dr. Kumaran has contributed a chapter for two books. He has chaired many business conferences and is a recognized evaluator and examiner for Ph.D. programs for Madurai University, Madurai and Central University, Sri Nagar, Jammu & Kashmir. He was a Research Supervisor and one Ph.D. was awarded under his guidance at Dr. MGR University, Chennai.
