Dr. Pravin Rameshwarji Bhansali

Professor

Department of Sciences

Dr. Pravin Rameshwarji Bhansali completed his postdoctoral research at Johns Hopkins University, USA, a premier research institute in the world where he worked on National Institute of health (NIH) USA funded projects related to antibacterial and anticancer therapy. Dr. Bhansali completed his Ph.D. in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry from the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA and holds an M.Pharm. Degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune.

During his doctoral thesis, Dr. Bhansali worked on total synthesis of largazole, a natural potent and selective anticancer agent which inhibits histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzyme.

His research interests include medicinal chemistry and drug design development.
