Dr. Nayan Kumar Sarkar

Dr. Nayan Kumar Sarkar is an academician and researcher with over a decade of experience in higher education, specializing in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Throughout his academic career, he has demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, curriculum development, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dr. Sarkar earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) from the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Arunachal Pradesh, an institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He also holds an M.Tech. in Information Technology from Tezpur University (Central) and has qualified the prestigious GATE and UGC-NET examinations. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Image Classification, Transfer Learning, Graph Neural Networks, and Explainable AI. His work focuses on developing intelligent learning models for image analysis and pattern recognition, with applications in agriculture, healthcare, and social network analysis. Dr. Sarkar has authored several research articles in leading SCI/SCIE and Scopus-indexed international journals. He has also co-authored a book titled Computer Fundamentals and has presented and published his research at several international conferences organized by IEEE and Springer.

At Alliance University, Dr. Sarkar is committed to fostering innovation-driven learning through active research, project-based education, and industry-oriented teaching practices. His goal is to equip students with strong analytical and problem-solving skills while contributing to impactful research.
