Dr. John Stephen Mario A

Assistant Professor

Alliance School of Applied Mathematics

Dr. John Stephen Mario A is an academic in the field of Applied Mathematics. His teaching portfolio includes undergraduate courses such as MATLAB, where he emphasizes foundational concepts and practical problem-solving through interactive instruction and continuous assessment.

He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Vellore Institute of Technology (2025). Dr. Mario holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics from Loyola College, Chennai (2022), where his dissertation explored “Problem of Scheduling Operations at Suburban Unit Maintenance Depot”, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur (2020).

His research interests lie in Applied Mathematics, particularly in wave propagation, smart materials, differential equations, multi-layered structures, mathematical modelling, and continuum mechanics. He has been a recipient of multiple Raman Research Awards (2023, 2024, 2025) recognizing his excellence in research, along with the Don Bosco Memorial Award (2019) for academic and extracurricular distinction.

Dr. Mario aspires to foster a stimulating and inquiry-driven learning environment that nurtures analytical thinking, research innovation, and intellectual independence among students, while contributing meaningfully to the advancement of applied mathematical sciences.
