Prof. Yashavant Kanetkar is a distinguished computer science educator, author, speaker, and mentor who has made remarkable contributions to programming education and technical learning for more than three decades. Widely regarded as one of India's most influential authors in computer science education, he has inspired millions of students, faculty members, and software professionals through his books, training programs, workshops, and technology initiatives.
Prof. Kanetkar is best known for his internationally acclaimed books on programming and software development, especially Let Us C, which has become one of the most widely read books for learning the C programming language. His books are recognized for their clarity, practical orientation, and learner-friendly approach, making complex programming concepts accessible to beginners as well as advanced learners. Over the years, his publications have been adopted by universities, engineering colleges, and professional training institutions across India and several other countries.
He completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, and earned his Master of Technology degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. His strong academic foundation, combined with extensive experience in industry-oriented education, has enabled him to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation in computer science and software engineering.
