BA in Public Policy (Hons.)

Overview

Public Policy programme is designed to give students a strong understanding of public policy theories, concepts to widen perspectives to take a successful career in public policy making. The course will enable students to apply science-based subject with apply social science methods to strengthen their skills in socio-scientific modelling and policy analysis through a structured integration. Through this approach, students will be able to policy friction points in the interplay of stakeholders to particularly include politics, community business and government while at the same time demonstrate strong ethical principles and values in the understanding of human subjects to ensure inclusive, equitable and sustainable policy making to solve complex real-world problems with particular reference to Sustainable Development and climate change.

Eligibility


10+2 from recognized Board / Council with minimum 50% marks. or equivalent 50% aggregate in 3 years Diploma recognized by AICTE.

A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST.


Key Features

Possess comprehensive knowledge in the understanding of public policy through evidence-based learning and the application of social sciences.

Be able to understand the factors that influence government action, its effects and be able to identify the strengths and challenges of making an inclusive, sustainable and equitable public policies.

Be able to contextualize public policy challenges from a political social and economic standpoint to include the dynamics of class, caste, class, gender, poverty, hunger related studies.

Be able to place public policy challenges within the global context its institutions with reference to sustainable development and climate change.

Gain key skills to include critical thinking, analytical reasoning/thinking, communications, and the ability to conduct professional analyses of social, political, and economic structures and bureaucratic processes.

Objectives

Proficiency in oral and written skills to be able to present a coherent and inclusive viewpoint integrating constitutional values, justice and equality through scientific inquiry and analysis within a strong ethical framework.

By incorporating these methodologies, we can create a dynamic and engaging learning environment for BCA (Hons.) students, preparing them for success in the rapidly evolving field of game development.

Course Pedagogy

Lectures will be supported by tutorial work, practicum and field-based learning. Students will undertake field- based learning/project, open-ended project work, some of which may be team-based. The activities are designed to promote the development of generic/transferable and subject- specific skills. Two internships are mandatory along with visits to field sites, and industrial or other research facilities etc.
