BA in Politics and Governance (Hons.)

Overview

Politics and Governance aims to provide students a comprehensive knowledge in the understanding of political theory, comparative politics political economy, and international relations. Students will demonstrate a strong understanding of politics through a multidisciplinary approach integrating perspectives of the politics of culture, poverty, clientelism, citizenship, nationalism, class, caste, migration, excludable and non-excludable goods. Students will be able to run an effective political campaign as a campaign organizer, public opinion analyst, chief of staff political war room reporting and possess strong skills as a public speaker, communication analyst, speech and content writer.

Eligibility


10+2 from recognized Board / Council with minimum 50% marks. or equivalent 50% aggregate in 3 years Diploma recognized by AICTE.

A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST.

Possess in depth about the Indian Political system, elections law, privileges and immunities and, constitutional values.

Be able to design a political campaign, strategize political interventions and successfully run an electoral campaign as a political candidate and/or a chief of staff of the political war room.

Be able to identify the class, caste and gender dimensions of political campaigns, understand political functioning as a tool of effective governance.

Gain key skills to include critical thinking, analytical reasoning, research and leadership towards the understanding of political trends.
