Tech Bridge: Alliance University Champions Women Empowerment in Rural Schools Through Emerging Technologies
16 July, 2025

In a dynamic stride toward bridging the digital divide and empowering young minds, the Centres of Excellence in Computer Vision and Immersive Technologies (AR/VR) at Alliance University successfully conducted the Tech Bridge Outreach Program at Government Higher Secondary School, Peddabelagondappali, and Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Hosur. This initiative aimed to introduce rural high school students—especially young women—to the transformative potential of emerging technologies such as Computer Vision and Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR).
The program witnessed participation from over 200 students, all eager to explore the frontiers of tech innovation. The event was not only educational but also deeply inspirational, designed to plant the seeds of curiosity and confidence in the minds of rural learners, particularly girls, who often face limited exposure to advanced technological tools and platforms.
The session began with insightful lectures from Dr. Senbagavalli M and Prof. Lalli K, who introduced students to the fundamentals of Computer Vision, illustrating its real-world relevance in industries such as healthcare, automotive, security, and entertainment. The engaging delivery and relatable examples helped demystify complex concepts for first-time learners.
This was followed by a captivating session on Immersive Technologies led by Prof. Ananthangu U, who showcased the power of AR/VR through a live demonstration. Students experienced how virtual environments and augmented simulations are changing the way we learn, work, and interact with the world.
The interactive sessions were followed by hands-on activities and quizzes, which allowed students to apply their learning and test their understanding in a fun and practical manner. The palpable excitement in the classrooms reflected a growing sense of empowerment among the students—many of whom expressed a newfound interest in technology careers.
Students and faculty alike expressed heartfelt appreciation for the initiative, praising its engaging format, informative content, and its role in inspiring young women to explore careers in technology.
The Tech Bridge initiative stands as a testament to Alliance University’s commitment to social responsibility, educational equity, and women empowerment in STEM. By bringing advanced learning opportunities to underserved communities, the University continues to champion inclusivity and innovation at the grassroots level.
