Alliance School of Business at Alliance University conducted a Pitch Deck Presentation session for MBA second-semester students pursuing the Business Model Generation elective. The event served as an application-based exercise aimed at connecting theoretical knowledge with practical entrepreneurial experiences.
Industry Experts Join as Mentors and Judges
The session featured two guest professionals from the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Ms Pallavi Singh, Co-founder of MultipliersKraft, brought expertise in talent and leadership development across multiple sectors. Mr Manish Reddy, author and entrepreneur, contributed insights from a creative and international business perspective. Both speakers served as judges and mentors, evaluating the student presentations and offering structured feedback.
Three Student Groups Present Business Ideas
Thirty students from the July 2024 MBA batch participated in the session. Divided into three groups, the students presented business ideas developed during the course. The group Mango Leather proposed a sustainable alternative to animal leather. Yartri Pass focused on solving urban mobility issues with a unified digital pass system. Aarambha Invest introduced a financial platform for supporting first-time investors from underserved communities.
Each group delivered a structured pitch deck highlighting the problem statement, customer segments, proposed solution, value proposition, revenue model, and competitive advantage. The student teams also addressed questions from the judges, simulating a real-world investor pitch experience.
Focus on Strategic Thinking and Investor Communication
The activity emphasised practical skills in crafting business models, refining pitches, and handling investor queries. Students applied concepts related to revenue streams, cost structures, and strategic partnerships. The interactive format encouraged immediate feedback, fostering deeper understanding of investor expectations and startup dynamics.
The session also aligned with academic goals around promoting innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. The structured critiques and open dialogue supported students in improving clarity, market fit, and financial viability of their ideas.
Academic-Industry Collaboration in Focus
Organised by the Department of General Management, the session reflected the school’s continued efforts to promote experiential learning. Collaboration with industry professionals enabled a learning environment that bridged classroom instruction with current industry practices.
By facilitating interaction with external experts, the session created a space for idea validation, iteration, and growth. Students benefited from the opportunity to present to professionals beyond the academic environment, gaining exposure to investor perspectives and market realities.
Strengthening Entrepreneurial Education
The Pitch Deck Presentation supported the university’s broader educational mission of integrating academic rigour with practical relevance. Through structured events and collaborative platforms, Alliance School of Business aims to nurture entrepreneurial capacity among students.
Such initiatives are part of a larger effort to embed innovation in the curriculum and prepare students for dynamic business landscapes. The session concluded with an emphasis on continuing mentorship and exploration of viable startup development paths for the participating groups.
