Green & Grey Photography Contest Encourages Creative Perspectives at Alliance University
30 April, 2026

Creativity often begins with observing familiar spaces from a new perspective. With this spirit, Kannada Sangha, in collaboration with the Department of Student Support Services (DOSSS), Alliance University, organised the Green & Grey Photography Contest, providing a platform for students, faculty members, and staff to explore the relationship between nature and architecture through visual storytelling.
Conducted through an online submission platform, the contest received enthusiastic participation from 89 members of the Alliance University community. Participants were invited to capture photographs that reflected the harmony between the University's green landscapes, open spaces, trees, and modern infrastructure, presenting their own creative interpretation of the campus environment.
The initiative encouraged participants to look more closely at their surroundings while developing their artistic and observational skills. Through their photographs, they highlighted the balance between natural spaces and built environments, demonstrating creativity, environmental awareness, and attention to detail. The contest also promoted interdisciplinary participation by bringing together students, faculty, and staff from different schools and departments.
The event was designed to encourage creative expression while fostering a greater appreciation for sustainable campus spaces. Students who participated were also eligible to receive activity points in accordance with University guidelines, promoting active involvement in co-curricular initiatives.
The contest was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Vivekanand Sajjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Language and Literature, along with Prof. Kasaniya Naik, Dr. Mithun Hanumesh, and student coordinator Aakash H. R., whose efforts contributed to the successful organisation of the event.
The Green & Grey Photography Contest reflected Alliance University's continued commitment to experiential learning, creativity, and community engagement. By encouraging members of the University community to connect art, nature, and innovation, the initiative provided a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the campus through the lens of creativity.
