From Campus to Cockpit: Alliance University Students Take Off with Indian Air Force Summer Internship
02 June, 2025

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Alliance University recently facilitated a prestigious summer internship for 12 of its students at the 11 Base Repair Depot (BRD) of the Indian Air Force, Nashik. Held from June 2 to June 27, 2025, the internship offered rare and invaluable exposure to the overhaul and maintenance of front-line combat aircraft including the Su-30MKI and Mig-29.
Students were immersed in real-world operations across key domains such as aircraft maintenance, avionics, and mechanical systems. They observed complex repair and diagnostic procedures, interacted with IAF personnel, and gained a deep appreciation for the precision and discipline required in military aviation.
The program was guided by IAF officers including Wing Commander Anjali Singh, Squadron Leader Balu Krishna PM, and Squadron Leader Malay Dixit, alongside faculty coordinator Dr. Raja Munusamy of Alliance University. Their mentorship ensured a meaningful, hands-on learning experience.
This immersive internship not only strengthened the students’ technical foundations but also ignited a deeper interest in aerospace and defence careers. It marked a defining chapter in their academic journey—bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world aviation practices.
