Alliance School of Business conducted a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled Draft to Impact: Excelling in Research Writing and Publication. The programme was designed to strengthen research writing and publishing competencies among faculty members and research scholars across disciplines.
Focus on Academic Writing and Publishing Process
The FDP addressed core components of scholarly publishing, with sessions covering manuscript preparation, journal selection, peer review navigation, and strategies to enhance research visibility. The content was structured to assist participants in understanding the end-to-end process of publishing in reputed academic journals.
Through presentations and interactive discussions, the sessions provided practical tools and techniques for improving the quality, clarity, and impact of academic writing. Emphasis was placed on aligning research topics with journal scope, adhering to publication guidelines, and responding effectively to reviewer feedback.

The sessions also addressed challenges related to publishing in high-impact journals, including issues of predatory publishing, plagiarism, and publication delays. Best practices were shared to help participants plan, structure, and submit manuscripts with improved chances of acceptance.
Commitment to Quality and Scholarly Engagement
The programme reflected Alliance University’s commitment to academic development and faculty enrichment. By focusing on publishing skills and scholarly communication, the FDP aligned with institutional goals of promoting high-quality research and increasing global visibility.
The event concluded with feedback from participants, outlining future areas for training and support in research capacity building. The outcomes are expected to contribute to enhanced publication outputs and greater faculty engagement with academic and professional communities.
The FDP formed part of an ongoing series of initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of research excellence within the university.
