Drug abuse is one of the most concerning issues affecting young people today. It not only harms health but also influences academic performance and personal well-being. Alliance University continues to place strong emphasis on student well-being by creating awareness and equipping students with the knowledge to make informed choices. In this effort, the University organised an Awareness Session on Drug Abuse and Prevention in collaboration with the Excise Department and Anekal Police Station.
Collaboration with Authorities
The session brought together senior officers from the Excise Department and the Police Department, who engaged with students on the importance of preventive education. Their participation highlighted the shared responsibility of institutions and enforcement agencies in guiding youth towards a healthier future.

The session was addressed by several senior officials. Mr. Dasharata Nayak, DYSP from the Excise Department, spoke to the students with conviction, encouraging them to stay away from harmful substances and focus on building a brighter future. Mr. Santosh Biradhar, Excise Inspector, and Mr. Tippeswamy, Inspector from Anekal Police Station, also shared practical perspectives, offering students guidance on how to remain resilient against such challenges. Other officials and inspectors from both the Excise and Police Departments were also present, adding to the significance of the event.
Student Engagement and Learning
The session created an open platform for students to learn about the risks of substance abuse and the wider impact it can have on society. By combining personal motivation, scientific knowledge, and practical advice, the discussions enabled students to gain a well-rounded understanding of the subject.
Commitment to Student Well-Being
This initiative is part of Alliance University’s ongoing commitment to prioritising student wellness. By working with government departments, the University ensures that preventive education and awareness remain integral to campus activities. The session reinforced the mission to foster a safe, healthy, and responsible student community.
