Alliance University Signs MoU with Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre to Strengthen Research and Innovation Ecosystem
17 April, 2026

The integration of academia and industry continues to play an important role in shaping future-ready education. At Alliance University, this approach was reflected through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC), aimed at fostering collaboration in research, innovation, and emerging technologies.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on 17 April 2026 at the Board Room, Admin Block, Alliance University. The event was organised by the Office of Industry & International Alliance and brought together senior leadership, faculty members, and representatives from Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre.
The collaboration focuses on strengthening engagement across areas such as research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-aligned skill development. It seeks to build a structured ecosystem that connects academia, research, and industry while creating opportunities for students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to engage with evolving technological domains.
As part of the agreement, both institutions will work towards establishing a Centre of Excellence in Quantum Computing and Emerging Technologies. The Centre is intended to serve as a platform for advanced research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experiential learning. It will support research programmes, industry partnerships, and skill development initiatives in emerging technology areas.
The partnership also includes joint efforts in startup incubation and venture creation, along with the development of innovation fellowships and structured entrepreneurship pathways. Both institutions will collaborate on designing skill-building initiatives that align with industry requirements and future workforce needs.
Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre will contribute to strengthening the University’s incubation ecosystem through mentorship, operational support, and access to advanced research infrastructure. Alliance University, in turn, will bring academic expertise, research capabilities, and a strong base of student-led innovation to support these initiatives.
The collaboration is expected to enhance research capabilities, improve access to infrastructure and mentorship, and support the growth of interdisciplinary innovation and startup ventures. It also aims to build a talent pool equipped with skills relevant to emerging technologies and evolving industry landscapes.
The planned areas of engagement include operationalising the Centre of Excellence with defined research programmes, expanding startup incubation activities with funding and investor connect initiatives, introducing joint certification programmes and specialised training modules, organising innovation challenges and hackathons, and facilitating collaborative research with industry and global institutions.
Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre is a flagship initiative of the Government of Karnataka, focused on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. Based in Bengaluru, the centre provides laboratory infrastructure, incubation support, mentorship, and access to funding for startups and researchers. It plays a significant role in supporting early-stage ventures and advancing translational research within India’s bioeconomy.
The MoU reflects a continued effort to align academic learning with innovation and industry engagement, creating pathways for meaningful collaboration and applied research.
