Alliance University Organises Business Nexus 3.0 to Support Small and Medium Enterprises
The Marketing Club at Alliance University organised Business Nexus 3.0, an event designed to highlight the challenges faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in India and to offer solution-driven consultation. The initiative aimed to help students understand real business problems while allowing them to work closely with small-scale enterprises to create measurable outcomes.
Event Overview
Business Nexus 3.0 encouraged participating teams to study SME challenges in depth and to propose strategic business solutions. Students examined several areas such as revenue improvement, technological advancement, identification of profitable consumer segments, brand positioning, supply chain issues, and cost optimisation. Over the course of one month, the teams worked with businesses from sectors including construction, insurance, fashion, food and beverage, and local kirana stores. They assessed the problems faced by these enterprises, implemented changes where possible, and documented the results.
Evaluation Process
Eight teams progressed to the final stage. They were evaluated on parameters such as problem identification, understanding the operational ecosystem, and the ability to present solutions that could be implemented within a defined timeframe. The process required students to think critically, adapt their classroom learning to real conditions, and maintain consistent engagement with the businesses they were supporting.
Student Engagement and Outcomes
Students were enthusiastic throughout the event, as they had the opportunity to work directly with business owners and observe the impact of their suggestions. One of the participating teams reported an improvement in business revenue of ₹70,000 within a week, demonstrating the value of practical intervention. The experience enabled students to apply theoretical knowledge in real business environments and offered meaningful interaction with the community.
Winning Teams
The event concluded with the announcement of the winning teams.
The first prize was awarded to Team Phoenix, consisting of Rakshith Kumar C, Sakshi Shetty and Pawan Gowda from MBA First Semester.
The second prize went to Team Syntrix, represented by Meet Nawdhar from BBA First Semester, Pari Kalla from BBA LLB First Semester and Arnab Kumar Das from MBA Second Semester.
The third prize was secured by Team Triple Nexus, comprising Marathi Rahul Reddy, Nohar George Singh Mann and Utkarsh Srivastava from BBA Third Semester.
