The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of Alliance University, under the 40 Kar Battalion NCC, Bengaluru, released the October 2025 edition of its NCC Chronicle, highlighting a series of activities that reflected the cadets’ discipline, awareness, and dedication. The month’s engagements included commemorations of national leaders, observance of World Mental Health Day, Indian Air Force Day celebrations, and special training sessions conducted by the Indian Army and Air Force officials. Each event reflected the NCC’s mission to instil values of leadership, resilience, and national service among cadets.
Commemorating Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti
On 2 October, NCC cadets paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. The celebrations included speeches, poetry recitations, and knowledge-sharing sessions on India’s freedom movement. Cadets reflected on the ideals of truth, non-violence, and service, drawing inspiration from the lives of the two leaders. The event encouraged students to uphold these principles in their daily conduct and leadership journey.
World Mental Health Day
On 10 October, NCC cadets observed World Mental Health Day with the theme of promoting emotional well-being and resilience. Under the guidance of Lt. Dr. Y. Narasimha Raja, Associate NCC Officer, cadets visited the University Wellness Centre to learn about stress management and self-care practices. A virtual tutorial by a global psychologist provided professional insights into coping mechanisms and mental balance. The day concluded with a group discussion where cadets shared perspectives on building a supportive environment that prioritises mental health awareness.
Indian Air Force Day Celebrations
The Indian Air Force Day was celebrated on 8 October to honour the valour and dedication of Air Force personnel. Cadets participated in an honour parade, a group discussion, and a movie screening of “Bhuj: The Pride of India”, which depicts the courage and service of Indian Air Force officers. The event deepened the cadets’ understanding of national defence and the importance of discipline, teamwork, and patriotism.
Visit by Indian Air Wing Officials
Alliance University had the honour of hosting officials from the 1 Karnataka Air Squadron. The visiting officers interacted with Prof. (Dr.) B. Priestly Shan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Lt. Dr. Y. Narasimha Raja, and the NCC cadets. The discussions focused on career opportunities in the Indian Air Force, leadership, and national service. The officials also toured the campus and visited the NCC Office and training areas. The interaction encouraged cadets to aspire towards defence careers and to embody the principles of courage and commitment.
Army Training Session by 40 Kar Battalion
On 24 October 2025, the cadets underwent specialised training led by officers of the 40 Karnataka Battalion, Indian Army. The session combined physical training and classroom instruction to enhance discipline, endurance, and theoretical knowledge related to military practices. Cadets participated in parade drills and lectures that deepened their understanding of leadership, national service, and the values central to the NCC’s mission.
