Alliance University equips students for career success through focused orientation initiative
The Department of Career Planning and Development in collaboration with the Alliance School of Advanced Computing, organised the Future Ready – Placement Preparation Orientation Session for students of the 2022–26 batch. The session marked a significant step in preparing students to meet industry expectations and navigate the placement process with confidence.
Inaugural Address
The session commenced with an address by Dr. Priestly Shan Boaz, Vice Chancellor, Alliance University. Emphasising the evolving demands of the corporate world, Dr. Boaz highlighted the importance of aligning student skills with recruiter expectations. The address underscored the value of early preparation, adaptability, and continuous learning in achieving placement goals.
Industry Insight
The event welcomed Mr Ram Prakash Govindarajan, Head – GenSpark India, as the Chief Guest. Drawing from his experience in talent development and recruitment, Mr Govindarajan spoke on the increasing relevance of real-time project exposure in recruitment decisions. He also emphasised the role of upskilling in maintaining employability in fast-changing job markets.
Guidance on Placement Readiness
Dr. V. Vivek V, Deputy Director – Alliance School of Advanced Computing, provided a detailed overview of the placement process. The session covered key areas such as interpreting job descriptions, understanding recruitment policies, and developing professional conduct during interviews. Dr. Vivek stressed the importance of a systematic approach to career planning and the need to engage proactively with the placement preparation process.
Support and Training Overview
Additional insights were shared by Mr. Karthik Raja, CEO – FACEPrep, who outlined the structure of training modules aimed at improving aptitude, technical, and soft skills. Dr. Gnanaprakasam Thangavel, Associate Director – Career Planning and Development, elaborated on the resources available to support students in their placement journey. This included access to mentoring, mock assessments, and personalised guidance to build a strong professional profile.
