14 May, 2026
Introduction:
Alliance University hosted the Short Term Immersion program 2026 in collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The program brought together academic learning, practical workshops, campus engagement, cultural exposure, industrial visits, and reflection-based activities. It was designed to give participants a structured experience of learning within and beyond the classroom.
Orientation and Campus Engagement
The program began with a welcome and orientation session at Alliance University. Participants were introduced to the campus environment and the planned activities for the program. The opening day also included a campus tour, which helped participants understand the academic and student spaces within the University.
The first phase of the program focused on hands-on learning. Participants attended a Hybrid-Fuel Ducted Rocket Workshop conducted by Dr. Syed Alay Hashim, Director, CoE Propulsion Systems. The sessions introduced them to applied concepts in propulsion and provided an opportunity to engage with practical learning in a focused academic setting. The following day included a Water Rocketry Workshop, also conducted by Dr. Syed Alay Hashim, where participants explored the basic principles of rocketry through guided activity.
Cultural Learning and Heritage Visits
The program also included cultural and heritage-based experiences. Participants visited Bengaluru Palace and Cubbon Park, along with the Visvesvaraya Museum. These visits helped them engage with the history, public spaces, and scientific heritage of Bengaluru.
The group later travelled to Mysore, where they visited Mysore Palace and Chamundeshwari Temple. The itinerary also included guided sightseeing and time for local exploration. A visit to Bandipur National Park added an environmental and experiential dimension to the program before participants returned to Alliance University.
Industry Exposure and Technology Workshops
Industrial exposure formed an important part of the immersion program. Participants visited Ananth Technologies Limited and Boeing, followed by time for shopping and leisure. Another industrial visit was organised to TAAL, Hosur. These visits gave participants a closer view of industry environments and helped connect academic learning with professional practice.
The program also included an AR/VR workshop conducted at the CoE Immersive Technologies Lab. The sessions introduced participants to immersive technology applications and allowed them to engage with emerging tools in a practical setting. These activities supported the larger aim of giving participants exposure to applied learning, innovation, and industry-linked experiences.
Performing Arts and Student Interaction
Alongside academic and industry-focused sessions, the program included performing arts workshops conducted by Prof. Sachhidanand Narayankar. These sessions were held across the program and provided space for creative expression, group learning, and cultural interaction.
Participants also had free days for optional leisure, sports, and other activities. These spaces allowed them to interact with peers, student buddies, and members of the University community in a more informal setting.
Closing Ceremony and Reflection
The concluding phase of the program included final rehearsals, a joint cultural performance, and a certificate ceremony. A reflection session was also held to help participants look back on their experience and share their learning from the program.
The Short Term Immersion program 2026 reflected Alliance University's approach to academic engagement through a balanced mix of classroom learning, applied workshops, industry exposure, cultural visits, and student interaction. The program created a structured and meaningful experience for participants through learning, collaboration, and reflection.
