Alliance University Conducts Faculty Development Programme on MATLAB for Mathematics Faculty
09 July, 2025

The Department of Mathematics at Alliance University organized a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Hands-on Training Workshop on MATLAB”. The primary objective of the programme was to provide faculty members with practical, hands-on training in MATLAB, aimed at enhancing their computational capabilities and enabling effective integration of the software into teaching and research, particularly in the domain of engineering mathematics.
The sessions were led by Dr. Riyaz Rahiman, Senior Application Engineer at UPT Coreel Technology Solutions Division. With his extensive expertise in MATLAB applications, Dr. Rahiman delivered insightful, interactive sessions that were tailored to both beginners and intermediate users. His practical approach to instruction ensured that participants gained both theoretical understanding and technical competence.
The FDP had successful outcomes as all registered faculty members successfully completing the workshop, participants acquiring valuable practical skills in using MATLAB for both teaching and academic research, and faculty gaining increased confidence in utilizing MATLAB Grader and integrating MATLAB tools into their respective disciplines.
The workshop was a resounding success, reinforcing Alliance University’s commitment to continuous faculty development and technological integration in academia. By bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications, the FDP empowered faculty members to adopt advanced computational tools in their academic pursuits.
