Alliance University Commemorates the 77th Republic Day in Honour of India's Constitutional Foundation

Alliance University commemorated the 77th Republic Day of India with patriotic spirit on its campuses. With the active participation of students, faculty members, staff, and distinguished guests, the celebrations reflected on values of the Constitution of India and reaffirmed the University's commitment to nation-building and responsible citizenship.
The program commenced with the unfurling of the National Tricolour by the Chief Guest, Retired Colonel Subhash Sinha, Commanding Officer and Flight Commander, followed by the National Anthem. This was followed by the hoisting of the Alliance University flag by the Honourable Smt. Shaila G. Chebbi, Advisor, Office of Pro-Chancellor and Mr. Abhay Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor, Alliance University setting a solemn and respectful tone for the occasion.
The ceremony continued with the address by Dr. B Priestly Shan, Vice-Chancellor of Alliance University, who highlighted the significance of Republic Day and emphasised the role of higher education institutions in promoting constitutional values, integrity, and civic responsibility among the youth.
The address by Chief Guest Retd. Colonel Subhash Sinha focused on leadership, discipline, and service to the nation. Drawing from his experience in the armed forces, he encouraged students to uphold unity, resilience, and a sense of duty in their academic and professional journeys.
As a mark of honour, Retd. Colonel Subhash Sinha was felicitated by the University leadership. Alliance also took this opportunity to felicitate ex-servicemen serving at the University, recognising their continued service and valuable contributions to the institution and the nation.
The celebrations featured patriotic cultural performances by students, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity. During the program, the University also announced with pride that students from the Alliance School of Performing, Visual and Creative Arts are representing the institution at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, highlighting their national-level participation and achievement.
This was followed by well-coordinated NCC demonstrations, including a fire obstacle drill and an impressive NCC bike drill, which showcased discipline, physical endurance, and teamwork among the cadets.
The event was further enriched by the presence of delegates from the New Zealand Prime Minister’s Scholars Group, who were honoured as Guests of Honour, reflecting Alliance University’s growing global engagement and commitment to international academic collaboration.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organisers, participants, and attendees for their support and cooperation. The celebration formally concluded with the flag-off of the ATB bike ride, symbolising unity, patriotism, and the spirit of the 77th Republic Day.
The Republic Day celebrations witnessed the presence of the leadership team of Alliance University, including Mr. Abhay Chebbi, Pro Chancellor; Dr. Priestly Shan, Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Matam Viswanathaiah, Registrar; and Mrs. Surekha Shetty, Registrar General, along with other senior officials, faculty members, staff, and students.
The Republic Day celebrations at Alliance University served as a reminder of the nation’s constitutional values and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to nurturing responsible, socially conscious, and engaged citizens.
