Alliance University and QpiAI Announce India’s First Public-Access 8-Qubit Quantum Computing Experience Center
12 February, 2026

Alliance University, in partnership with QpiAI, has announced the establishment of India’s first commercially accessible quantum computing experience center at its Electronic City campus in Bengaluru. The initiative marks an important step in expanding access to indigenous quantum computing technology for researchers, entrepreneurs, enterprises, and government agencies.
The facility, titled QUASAR (Quantum AI School of Advanced Research), is positioned as India’s first Quantum Computing Experience Center. It will provide hands-on access to an 8-qubit superconducting quantum system, enabling users to work directly with quantum hardware. The Center is expected to serve startups, multinational technology companies, academic researchers, and members of the defence and aerospace sectors located in and around Bengaluru.
The initiative comes at a time when several countries are investing in quantum computing due to its potential applications in areas such as encryption, drug discovery, optimisation, and artificial intelligence. By establishing this Center within Electronic City, which hosts a large concentration of technology companies and emerging ventures, the partnership aims to create a direct link between advanced research and industry application.
Dr. Nagendra Nagaraja, Founder and CEO of QpiAI, stated that the initiative is intended to expand access to sovereign quantum technology within India. He noted that the Center is designed to function as a reference site where students, researchers, and industry professionals can access the same indigenous quantum computing platform for research, experimentation, and development.
At the core of the collaboration is QpiAI’s QVidya 8-qubit superconducting quantum system. The platform has been developed indigenously and is paired with the QpiAI Explorer software environment. Together, they are designed to enable practical experimentation in optimisation, cryptography, and artificial intelligence applications. The system reduces reliance on foreign quantum infrastructure in a technology area considered strategically significant.
Alliance University has developed the specialised infrastructure required to host the system. Quantum computing hardware operates in highly controlled conditions, including ultra-low temperature environments and electromagnetic shielding. The University’s Electronic City campus provides the technical and logistical support necessary for such an installation, while also ensuring accessibility for industry and research partners.
Mr. Abhay G Chebbi, Pro Chancellor of Alliance University, stated that the University views the initiative as both an academic and industry-focused endeavour. He explained that the Center is intended to support certification programs, research partnerships, and Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS) offerings, while expanding opportunities for applied learning and innovation.
The QUASAR Center aligns with the objectives of India’s National Quantum Mission, which seeks to strengthen the country’s capabilities in quantum technologies. By offering structured training, industry certifications, and collaborative research opportunities, the Center aims to address the need for skilled professionals in this emerging field. For startups and enterprises, the facility provides access to quantum computing resources without the need for large capital investment, enabling experimentation and proof-of-concept development.
QpiAI is an Indian quantum computing company engaged in the development of superconducting quantum systems, quantum software platforms, and artificial intelligence solutions in alignment with the National Quantum Mission. The company focuses on expanding access to quantum technologies across academic, enterprise, and government sectors.
Alliance University is a private university located in Bengaluru’s Electronic City. The University works closely with industry and government bodies to support innovation, applied research, and emerging technology programs. Through this partnership with QpiAI, Alliance University continues to strengthen its role in connecting academic research with national and industry priorities in advanced technologies.
