Alliance School of Law Signs MoU with MAARGA Bangalore to Strengthen Community Legal Outreach
06 May, 2026

Alliance School of Law, Alliance University, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MAARGA Bangalore to strengthen community-centred legal education and expand access to justice initiatives for vulnerable and marginalized communities.
MAARGA Bangalore has been actively working with communities in urban settlements across Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka, focusing on education, livelihood, social welfare entitlements, and community empowerment. Through this collaboration, the Legal Services Clinic of Alliance School of Law aims to build sustained legal aid and socio-legal outreach initiatives that directly engage with grassroots communities.
Under the partnership, the Legal Services Clinic will establish off-campus legal aid desks and organise legal aid and awareness camps in rural and urban areas. The initiative will support community members in accessing essential entitlements such as ration cards, Aadhaar cards, voter identification documents, and welfare benefits. The collaboration will also address issues related to gender-based violence, labour rights, community mediation, and awareness on laws including the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Domestic Violence Act.
The MoU also creates opportunities for law students to participate in field engagement, legal research, case documentation, and dispute resolution activities under faculty supervision. This experiential learning approach is intended to help students understand the practical realities of access to justice and the challenges faced by marginalised communities.
The collaboration reflects Alliance University’s continued focus on socially engaged legal education and community-based learning. By taking legal awareness and support directly into communities, the initiative seeks to strengthen rights awareness and improve access to legal systems for underserved populations.
