Prashant Sharma graduated in 2014 with an MBA from Alliance University. He shares his story from the days at Alliance to his current stint as a Territory Sales and Marketing Manager for one of the top passenger vehicle companies in India.

“Growing up in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and then coming to Bangalore was a life changing experience for me. I remember beholding and getting awestruck by the great campus as I entered the premise. I knew a lot more was planned by God in the days to come. But it was the pressure of assignments and tests that made my time at Alliance wholesome 😊.

First semester was a mixed bag of all the subjects, where I realized that Sales & Marketing was a subject that I would want to pursue. I still thank the brilliant professors for helping me in making the right decision. Everything was very fast and new; making new friends, doing group projects, making presentations and what not.

I stayed in the hostel so that I could explore and enjoy the campus life where after the classes we used to spend a lot of time in the extracurricular activities and hanging out with the friends, later in 2013 I joined CAN Team (Career Advancement & Networking) as a student placement committee member.

We had to face rounds of interview and GDs to be in that special team, this team helped in with Placements for the students in the campus and it was a great experience! Making connections with the corporates & learning to work as a team with an AIM that every member from our batch gets placed in the best company. There was always prestige associated with being a part of the placement team.

This experience allowed me to experiment with marketing concepts, as we needed to market and brand the college and students to these companies. The same year, I got placed with Mahindra & Mahindra Automotive Sector, where I had a rigorous one-year training in Mumbai and other locations in the country. After the training I was posted in Bangalore. The team that I was a part of, headed Sales and Marketing for Karnataka. I spent 4.5 years at Mahindra and then in the quest of more knowledge, I joined the Market Leader in the Automotive Sector heading their Premium Range of Cars, Now I am placed in Mumbai and currently working as Territory Sales Manager.

As I pen down my memories at Alliance it seems like a roller coaster ride which not only took me to new highs but also made me humble to chase my dreams and achieve them. I sincerely cannot be anymore thankful to my Parents and Teachers for that. Nonetheless, the life at Alliance remains a memorable time for me. It taught me to socialize and form opinions of my own. At Alliance, I learned to become confident and composed and will always be proud of it.”
