‘Campus to Corporate’ — Student Mentorship Program
August 2021

The Orientation for the ‘Campus to Corporate' — Student Mentorship Program was held on Saturday, August 28, 2021. The event witnessed twenty-six corporate mentors from top organizations and twenty-six faculty mentors from Alliance School of Business come together for one common goal – student employability. The program has been conceived with the sole aim of getting our students mentored by some of the top professionals across industry verticals. This program will be a catalyst in driving student holistic growth and making them industry-ready ahead of time.

Dr. Subrata Dey, Professor, Interim Associate Dean & Area Chair Marketing, Alliance School of Business, Alliance University, inaugurated the program with a welcome speech in favor of all the corporate mentors attending the session. Dr. Dey shared his views on the importance of mentorship for the students in the pursuit of career growth. He also spoke on the CRG framework – Consistency, Reliability, Goal Oriented.

Dr. Punith Cariappa, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academics) & Professor, Alliance School of Business, Alliance University spoke on the requirement of proper planning to help acclimatize students with the corporate culture and processes. Dr. Cariappa also mentioned that mentorship programs scale up the learning curve for students to excel in their career paths.

Dr. B.V. Krishnamurthy, Adviser to the Pro-Chancellor, Alliance University took the proceeding further with a speech on bridging the gap between campus and corporate. Dr. B.V.K. emphasized the power of collaboration and cooperation of faculty and students in the transformational journey towards excellence.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Surekha Shetty, Sr. Director – Office of Career Advancement and Networking, Alliance University. The mentorship program will be a year-long initiative where the corporate and faculty mentors would be interacting with the students very often on campus ensuring a successful outcome from the program.
