Dr. Raoof Mir joined Alliance University in 2021 as an Assistant Professor of Media and Journalism. Before joining Alliance University, Raoof taught at University of Delhi and Jain University. He has taught courses related to Media and Cultural Studies, International Communication, Media Policy and Regulation, Sociological Theories, and Business Communication. He received his Ph.D. from Centre for Media Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. In 2016, Raoof was awarded with INLAKS Research Travel Grant for his visit to Center for Media, Religion, and Culture, University of Colorado, Boulder, US. He was granted DAAD fellowship to visit Centre for Modern Indian Studies, University of Gottingen, Germany, in 2017.
His work specializes in exploring the intersection between media technologies and the socio-cultural and religious patterns. His doctoral research theme focussed on how media and religion interact in the spaces of social, cultural, and political practices. Drawing from a variety of perspectives in philosophy, history, anthropology, media studies and religious studies, his research mostly seeks to analyse themes linked to globalized identity formations, digitized media & religious environments, and popular culture. Through critical analysis of historical texts, dialogue and community intervention, his work aims to foster peace and social harmony. His work has appeared in a few scholarly books and notable research journals such as Society and Culture in South Asia (Sage), Media, Religion and Digital Cultures (Brill). His articles have been featured in Nikkei Asian Review, Kafila, twocircles.net, Thirds Spaces. He has supervised several masters’ and bachelor’s dissertations / research reports.

Kumarswamy's professional journey extends beyond corporate projects; he has actively participated in various departments of the feature filmmaking process, particularly in the vibrant Kannada film industry. His expertise further shines through in reality shows like MasterChef India and Bigg Boss Kannada, where he has made substantial contributions. In the realm of documentary filmmaking, Kumarswamy has created impactful documentaries for the Government of Karnataka, shedding light on tribal cultures and contributing to political and social campaigns. With over five plus years of combined industry and teaching experience, Anurag Dwivedi specializes in subjects such as Advertising Management, Public Relations Management, Marketing Management, Organizational Behaviour, Development Communication, Health Communication, and Media Studies. He has contributed to academic knowledge with five research papers published in UGC CARE and international peer-reviewed journals, covering topics like the influence of social media on audience buying decisions, COVID-19 health reporting, personalized advertising, challenges faced by journalists during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of social media on news dissemination during COVID-19. Currently, he is working on papers exploring the emergence of telemedicine, the use of green advertising to raise awareness of environmental issues, and the roles of AI in advertising and journalism.
Devadas Rajaram is a highly skilled educator specializing in Digital Journalism, with expertise in various areas including multimedia storytelling, Mobile Journalism, Social Media, Data Journalism, Podcasting, AR/VR/360 immersive storytelling, Drone Journalism, AI, and Prompt Engineering. He has an impressive background, having served as the former senior editor-in-chief of Info2Cell.com, which stands as the world's first mobile storytelling platform. Devadas Rajaram is recognized as one of the pioneers in mobile journalism and interactive multimedia storytelling.
Before joining Alliance University, she worked as a Guest Faculty at the Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad and was also a Visiting Faculty at Annapurna College of Film and Media. Apart from academic experience, she also has the experience of working as a Research Associate with Ideosync Media Combine, a not-for-profit organization based out of Delhi NCR. There she was involved in training and capacity building of community media practitioners in writing scripts, recording their stories on audio and video and conducting workshops in qualitative research. Her research interests include Media Histories, Gender, media and Communication, Cultural Studies and Communication, and Film Studies. Apart from research and teaching she is regularly involved in translation projects, contributing subtitles for movies and writing on contemporary cultural themes along with collaborative movie podcasts.
