Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - BA (Hons.) - Political Science
Overview
The BA in Political Science is designed to empower students to find their voice and lead boldly in a fast-evolving world. Politics is not confined to governments—it is everywhere, shaping power dynamics, societies, and the trajectory of our multipolar world. This program takes an interdisciplinary approach, blending political philosophy, history, sociology, psychology, economics, media studies, and data science to provide students with a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the forces shaping our lives.
Grounded in diverse intellectual traditions, students will delve into critical themes such as war, peace, conflict, power, and security while tackling contemporary global and local challenges. This program goes beyond theory—it is about living politics through vibrant, hands-on experiences. Whether it’s organizing dynamic model parliaments, participating in immersive field visits, or hosting thought-provoking podcasts, students will engage with the real-world applications of their learning in ways that are fun, interactive, and deeply impactful.
The curriculum places students at its centre, focusing on developing vital skills like critical thinking, writing, debating, and argumentation. From editing student-led journals and participating in strategy simulations to direct interactions with legislators, diplomats, and civil society leaders, every step of this journey equips students to thrive in an interconnected world.
This is more than a degree; it’s a launchpad for diverse careers in civil services, think tanks, NGOs, international organizations, corporate sectors, media, and political consultancy. It also fosters entrepreneurial confidence, empowering students to create new ventures in political consultancy, journalism, or activism.
At the heart of this program is a global perspective, anchored by the Centre of Excellence in Eurasian Studies, which positions students to engage with the emerging dynamics of the multipolar world. With a strong focus on research and international engagement, the program ensures graduates are prepared to address the challenges of an ever-changing global landscape.
Energetic, innovative, and rigorous, this program combines theory and practice to create a truly holistic experience. Here, students don’t just study political science—they live it. They are equipped to lead, create, and make a meaningful impact on the world.
