As part of the orientation programme for the new batches, Alliance University conducted a series of sessions under the theme “Let’s Talk Mental Health, Safety and Respect.” The initiative introduced students to important aspects of campus life, focusing on well-being, safety, and respectful engagement.
Let’s Talk Mental Health, Safety and Respect
The sessions on mental health aimed to help students understand the importance of resilience and emotional balance. Students were encouraged to seek support when required and to view mental well-being as a shared responsibility within the campus community. By discussing coping strategies and the value of open conversations, the sessions provided students with the tools to begin their academic journey with confidence and awareness.
Anti-Ragging Measures
A key focus of the programme was anti-ragging awareness. Students were informed about the University’s policies and the collective responsibility to maintain a safe and inclusive environment. The discussions highlighted the need to build a campus culture free from harassment or intimidation, where every individual feels secure and respected.
Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)
Another important component of the sessions was the introduction to the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) framework. Students were guided on the meaning of respectful behaviour and personal boundaries. The sessions also explained the institutional mechanisms available for grievance redressal, ensuring students are aware of the systems in place to protect dignity and fairness.
Building a Responsible Campus Culture
Through these sessions, Alliance University emphasised its commitment to creating a campus where wellness, safety and mutual respect are central values. The initiative reflected the University’s aim of cultivating responsibility among students while fostering a supportive academic environment.
The orientation concluded with the message that by prioritising mental health, safety, and respect, the campus community grows stronger, safer, and more compassionate together.
