Faculty Development Program on Enhancing Research Output and Impact Held at Alliance University
17 April, 2026

Research develops through the use of appropriate tools, informed approaches, and clear intent. With this understanding, the Central Library of Alliance University, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Centre for Research, organised a Faculty Development Program on "Enhancing Research Output and Impact with Clarivate Solutions".
The session was led by Dr. Subhasree Nag from Clarivate, a global organization known for providing insights and analytics that support innovation and academic research. The program focused on strengthening research practices by introducing participants to effective methods of literature discovery, strategies for publishing in high-impact journals, and approaches to research collaboration.
During the session, participants were familiarized with advanced research tools such as Web of Science, EndNote 2025, and Derwent Patent Search. Dr. Nag explained how these platforms can assist in identifying relevant research, managing references, and exploring patent data. The discussion also addressed how the use of such tools can contribute to improving the quality and visibility of academic work.
The program saw active participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students. It provided an opportunity for participants to engage with practical aspects of research and reflect on how structured approaches can influence research outcomes. The session created a space for meaningful learning and exchange of ideas within the academic community.
The initiative highlighted the importance of engaging thoughtfully with research processes. It reinforced the idea that advancing knowledge depends not only on generating ideas, but also on how those ideas are developed, supported, and communicated.
