The Department of Fine Arts, School of Liberal Arts, Alliance University, organised Drśya–Rasa 2026, its first Students’ Annual Art Exhibition, at Venkatappa Art Gallery, Bengaluru. The three-day exhibition provided a professional platform for emerging student artists to showcase their creative expressions, artistic explorations and individual perspectives to a wider audience. The exhibition drew inspiration from Indian aesthetic philosophy, with Drśya referring to what is seen or perceived and Rasa representing the emotional and aesthetic experience evoked by art. Together, these concepts reflected the exhibition\\\\\\\'s central idea of creating a dialogue between artistic expression and audience interpretation. Featuring a diverse collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, mixed-media works and other visual expressions, the exhibition highlighted students\\\\\\\' creativity, technical abilities and conceptual development. The artworks explored different approaches to form, materials, visual storytelling and personal expression, encouraging visitors to engage with art through observation, reflection and interpretation. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dr B. Priestly Shan, Vice-Chancellor, Alliance University; Dr V. Shyam Kishore, Associate Dean, Academic Affairs; Dr Liju Jacob Kuriakose, Assistant Dean, School of Liberal Arts; and Prof. Sangita Das, Head, Department of Fine Arts. The proceedings included a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, addresses by University and School representatives, and student representatives Pranav Jain and Netra Shah Ajaybhai. An award ceremony and certificate distribution recognised student participation and artistic accomplishments. Hosting the exhibition at Venkatappa Art Gallery enabled students to present their work beyond the classroom and studio, fostering interaction with the broader artistic community. The public gallery setting encouraged appreciation, constructive dialogue and critical reflection while introducing emerging artistic voices to a professional exhibition environment. As the inaugural edition of the Department\\\\\\\'s annual student exhibition, Drśya–Rasa 2026 marked a significant step towards integrating creative practice with public engagement. The initiative reflected Alliance University\\\\\\\'s commitment to nurturing artistic talent, independent thinking, cultural awareness and interdisciplinary learning. The exhibition concluded by celebrating the dedication, imagination and creative potential of the University\\\\\\\'s Fine Arts students, establishing a foundation for future exhibitions and continued engagement between art, artists and audiences.
