Alliance University, in association with the Bengaluru District Police, organized an awareness program to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The initiative focused on promoting informed choices, responsible citizenship, and collective action towards building a healthier and safer society.
The program brought together more than 400 students, faculty members, and participants from Alliance University and other educational institutions across the Anekal region. Senior police officials addressed the gathering and shared insights on the risks associated with substance abuse, the importance of early intervention, and the role of educational institutions in prevention and awareness.
The program also included interactive sessions, an awareness walk from the Alliance University campus to Anekal town, and a collective pledge to stay away from drugs. These activities encouraged participants to engage with the issue actively and understand the value of community participation in addressing substance abuse.
Aligned with SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being, the initiative reinforced the importance of awareness, prevention, and responsible decision-making. It reflected Alliance University’s continued commitment to student well-being, social responsibility, and community engagement.
