Alliance University organized the SDG - Build & Solve: AI Product Prototype Showcase, bringing together more than 600 MBA students across 60 groups to develop AI-powered solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative created a platform for students to apply management knowledge, research, and emerging technology to challenges with social and environmental relevance.
Working in teams, students identified specific problems, studied their wider impact, and developed product prototypes that demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence could support practical and sustainable solutions. The activity encouraged them to move beyond conceptual learning and consider important aspects such as feasibility, user needs, implementation, and long-term value.
Group 15 was declared the winner for its project, "Pothole Reporting on Arterial Roads," developed under SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. The project focused on using technology to improve the identification and reporting of road infrastructure concerns.
Group 25 secured the second prize for "Ecological Death of Traditional Village Ponds," aligned with SDG 14: Life Below Water. The project examined the environmental challenges affecting traditional water bodies and explored a technology-supported approach to monitoring and conservation.
Group 28 received the third prize for "Organic Verification Logs for Peri-Urban Farms," developed in line with SDG 2: Zero Hunger. The project addressed the need for transparent verification processes in organic farming and considered how digital records could strengthen reliability and accountability.
The showcase reflected the students' ability to combine analytical thinking, innovation, research, and technology to address real-world concerns. It also reinforced Alliance University's focus on experiential learning and the responsible application of Artificial Intelligence to support meaningful and sustainable development.
