Alliance University Commemorates World Humanitarian Day with Focus on Compassion and Social Responsibility

Kannada Sangha at Alliance University commemorated World Humanitarian Day through a reflective program focused on compassion, empathy, social responsibility, and concern for the well-being of others.

The program featured Dr. M. Lalithamba, Kannada Professor and Epigraphist, as the Chief Guest. She spoke about the importance of humanitarian values in contemporary society and highlighted the role of individuals who support communities during pandemics, natural disasters, and other crises. She encouraged students to recognize the value of small acts of kindness and responsible action.

Dr. Mithun Hanumesh, Guest of Honour, emphasized the importance of being attentive to the challenges faced by people around us and encouraged students to respond with awareness, empathy, and responsibility. In his valedictory remarks, Dr. Sumant Kumar also highlighted the need for sensitivity and proactive social engagement.

The program began with an invocation song by Bhavana and was anchored by Deeksha. Students who participated in the Kannada Book, Story, and Movie Review Competition were recognized with medals, linking literary engagement with humanitarian awareness and social values.

Prof. Kasaniya Naik, Ms. Vibha Purohit, faculty members, and students from different departments attended the program. Dr. Vivekanand Sajjan delivered the vote of thanks.

The program reflected Alliance University’s continued focus on values-based learning, empathy, responsible citizenship, and the role of language and literature in building social awareness.
