Alliance University commemorated India’s 80th Independence Day with a series of student-led activities organized by the NSS Cell in association with the Kannada Sangha. The program created a platform for students to express patriotism, creativity, cultural identity, teamwork, and awareness of India’s freedom struggle and national values.

The celebrations included a wide range of competitions such as Freedom Wall, Patriotic Singing, Patriotic Dance, Elocution, Debate, Independence Day Quiz, Photography, Reel Making, Best Out of Waste, Traditional Attire, and Rangoli. These activities encouraged students to participate individually and in teams while strengthening communication, leadership, creativity, and collaborative skills.

A significant part of the celebration was the ceremonial parade and march past by 50 NSS volunteers. The disciplined formation reflected coordination, teamwork, and a strong sense of national pride, while reinforcing the values of service and responsibility represented by the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You.”

Students from different programs participated across the competitions, with winners recognized in multiple categories. The Rangoli Competition, Freedom Wall, patriotic performances, quiz, debate, and creative contests added variety to the celebrations and provided students with opportunities to present their ideas and talents in different forms.

The programs was coordinated by Dr. Rathnakar Achary, Dr. Chetan Shelke, Prof. Kasaniya Naik, and Prof. Vivekanand Jagannath Sajjan, with support from student coordinators Maneesh P. Shetty, Sowmya S, Prisha Kansal, and Kavya C. Hiremath.

The Independence Day celebrations reflected Alliance University’s continued commitment to encouraging patriotism, national integration, unity in diversity, social harmony, creativity, leadership, and responsible citizenship through meaningful student engagement.
