Alliance University Celebrates Hindi Diwas 2026 with Language, Creativity and Cultural Activities

The NSS Cell of Alliance University organised Hindi Diwas 2026, a four-day celebration dedicated to promoting the Hindi language, creative expression and cultural appreciation. Held under the theme “Same Words, New Worlds”, the celebration brought together students from different academic programmes to explore Hindi through literature, storytelling, performance and interactive competitions. The initiative aimed to encourage students to engage with Hindi beyond conventional classroom learning and recognise its importance as a language of communication, creativity and cultural identity. Through a series of activities, participants were encouraged to express their ideas, strengthen their language skills and develop confidence in public speaking and creative performance. The first three days featured seven competitions covering poetry recitation, Hindi idioms, storytelling, slogan writing, monologues, dubbing and dumb charades. Each activity offered students a different opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, linguistic abilities and presentation skills. The poetry recitation competition, Symphony of Words, encouraged participants to present original compositions, while The Great Idiom Showdown tested their understanding of Hindi expressions and vocabulary. The storytelling competition, Once Upon a Thought, provided a platform for students to develop original narratives and present them before an audience. Students also participated in Words That Hit, Change That Sticks, a slogan-writing competition focused on contemporary social issues. The activity encouraged participants to communicate meaningful messages through concise and impactful language. The monologue competition, I Am History Reimagined, invited students to portray historical personalities through expressive performances. Meanwhile, Your Voice, Your Filmy Flair explored creativity through film dubbing, and The Art of Saying It Without Words encouraged teamwork, improvisation and non-verbal communication through dumb charades. The celebrations concluded with a main event and prize distribution ceremony attended by 122 participants and guests. The occasion was graced by Mr. Akhil Tamta, Assistant Professor and Interim Head of Department, Fashion Design, as the Chief Guest. The concluding programme featured The Melody Must Go On, an Antakshari competition that brought together participants through Hindi music and encouraged teamwork and cultural engagement. Winners of the seven competitions were felicitated for their achievements, with selected participants presenting their winning performances before the gathering. Throughout the celebrations, students demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity and confidence across individual and team activities. The competitions provided opportunities to develop communication skills, expand vocabulary, strengthen stage presence and appreciate the richness of Hindi literature and popular culture. The program was coordinated with the support of faculty members, NSS office bearers and student volunteers, whose collective efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the activities. The celebration also reflected the NSS spirit of “Not Me, But You”, encouraging collaboration, participation and a shared sense of community. Hindi Diwas 2026 concluded on a positive note, highlighting the role of language in connecting people, expressing ideas and preserving cultural heritage. Through initiatives such as this, Alliance University continues to encourage linguistic diversity, student creativity and meaningful cultural engagement across its campus.
