The Alliance School of Law, Alliance University, organized a guest lecture on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), providing students with an opportunity to explore the practical applications of environmental law and its growing significance in legal and regulatory frameworks.

The session was led by Ms Shivani Sinha, Chief Counsel at the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), Delhi High Court, who shared insights into environmental governance, regulatory compliance, public consultation, judicial review, and the legal processes involved in environmental decision-making.

The lecture explored the role of Environmental Impact Assessment in evaluating the potential environmental consequences of development projects and the importance of regulatory procedures in ensuring responsible decision-making. Students gained a broader understanding of how environmental laws and policies are applied in real-world situations, particularly in matters involving development, sustainability, and legal accountability.

The interaction also highlighted emerging career opportunities in environmental law, including environmental litigation, policy, compliance advisory, due diligence, infrastructure advisory, and arbitration. The discussion helped students understand the diverse professional pathways available in the field and the relevance of legal knowledge in addressing environmental and regulatory challenges.

The session provided an opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with professional legal practice while developing a clearer understanding of the relationship between law, governance, and environmental responsibility.

Through such industry interactions, Alliance School of Law continues to strengthen experiential learning and professional engagement, encouraging students to explore specialized areas of legal practice and develop the knowledge and perspectives required to address contemporary legal challenges.
