Ms. Devika P

Ms. Devika P is an academician and researcher currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at Anna University, Chennai. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Machine Learning from Amrita University (2016) and a Bachelor’s degree in the same discipline from Anna University (2014). Additionally, she completed an ITC course in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant from Soft-Tech Institute in 2010.

Ms. Devika has teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at Mahaguru Institute of Technology, Kattachira, from March 2018 to August 2021. During her tenure, she handled a wide array of subjects including Soft Computing, Mobile Computing, Data Communication, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Principles of Management, System Software Lab, and Network Programming.

Her domain expertise lies in Machine Learning, Data Mining (Web Usage Mining), Sentiment Analysis, and Deep Learning. She is technically proficient in C, C++, and Python, and is comfortable working on both Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) platforms. In addition to her technical skills, she is recognized for her strong communication and listening abilities.

Ms. Devika has been actively involved in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. She has earned recognition as a semester topper, participated in national conferences for paper presentations, and won several competitions in throwball, dance, and quizzes. She also underwent in-plant training at M-Squared Software & Services.

Her academic projects reflect her interest in advanced computing techniques:

• Mini Project: Developed an Improved Apriori Algorithm for efficient frequent pattern mining, aimed at reducing the time complexity of traditional algorithms.
• Major Project: Designed a Recommendation System for an Online Book Store using an optimized version of the Apriori algorithm, delivering improved performance through reduced database scans.
